In my opinion this book has replaced 'The Purpose Driven Church' by Rick Warren (read my review). Although a great book and I still use it as a reference 20 years on, that book was anything BUT simple. 21 complicated points for this and 39 process classifications for that and so on.

This book is not like that. Save money on books reviewed or featured in the Church Times. To get your reader discount: > Click on the “Church Times Bookshop” link at the end of the review.

You’ve thought that. You’ve voiced this concern. But have you. The Prodigal Church is more than just a demolition project. Atop the wreckage left by pragmatism and consumerism, Wilson attempts to rebuild scaffolding with different, yet more durable materials. In this, the book succeeds, though not perfectly.

Moving from the Coney Island seashore to the tenement-studded streets of the Lower East Side, a spectacular human circus to a brutal, terrifying asylum, Church of Marvels takes readers back to turn-of-the-century New York - a city of hardship and dreams, love and loneliness, hope and danger.

Book Review – Church Elders 9Marks has always provided rock solid resources for the local church – but what makes them so helpful is that they are so accessible. They have a knack, that reminds me a lot of Bob Kauflin and Sovereign Grace, to be unassuming, and “entry level” and then be able to go deep quickly and not shy away from the.

Gabby came to mind as I read Douthat’s new book, “To Change the Church,” which fits with “Privilege” and his book “Bad Religion” to form a loose triptych about institutions in Author: Paul Elie. As an elder in a local church I am always on the look out for books that will help me and my team better serve our congregation.

I don’t have my finger on the pulse of Christian culture, so I had no baggage when someone recommended Crazy Love, a book about what it means to love God and that should look like in action.I’m wayo careful to say that I agree with every word that another person says, but I do make a habit of reading through Crazy Love every few years or so.

In his book, Church Unique, Will Mancini pushes pastors to engage in the hard work of finding the unique contribution that their church can make to the world. More than strategy, this is a matter of finding, affirming, and leveraging the unique way that God has created our churches for the good of the gospel.

The book by David Murrow starts off with shocking statistics: for example, did you know the average church in the US is 61% female and 39% male.
